About Dr Strydom
MBChB · FC Psych (SA) · HPCSA Registered Psychiatrist
Dr Michelle Strydom is a registered psychiatrist based in Centurion, Gauteng. As a medical doctor specialising in psychiatry, she combines medication management with evidence-based psychotherapy to offer truly integrated mental health care. Passionate about walking alongside individuals through life's most difficult seasons, she founded Kairos Mind Wellness on the belief that every person deserves access to compassionate, high-quality psychiatric care.
The name Kairos (καιρός) comes from the New Testament Greek, describing God's appointed time — not clock time, but the divinely perfect moment. Dr Strydom founded this practice on the belief that whoever walks through the door arrives at exactly the right time in God's plan for their healing. She brings warmth, professionalism, and evidence-based expertise to every therapeutic encounter.
She works with adults, adolescents, and children across a broad range of presenting concerns, integrating psychiatric care and psychotherapy to tailor treatment to each individual's unique needs and goals.
Qualifications & Registration
"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart."
Ecclesiastes 3:11
The word Kairos appears throughout the New Testament as God's appointed, perfect time — distinct from ordinary clock time. At Kairos Mind Wellness, we believe that healing unfolds in God's timing, and that every step toward wholeness is part of a purposeful journey. Our work is grounded in this hope: that transformation is always possible, and that you are here at exactly the right moment.
How I Work
Psychiatric care is not one-size-fits-all. I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches — combining medication management and psychotherapy — and tailor each treatment plan to the individual.
CBT helps you identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and problematic behaviours.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing is a highly effective, evidence-based treatment for trauma and PTSD.
ACT focuses on building psychological flexibility — learning to accept difficult emotions rather than fighting them, while committing to valued living.
A structured therapeutic approach that combines empathic listening, psychoeducation, and practical guidance to strengthen coping and resilience.
As a medical doctor, Dr Strydom can prescribe and carefully manage psychiatric medication, integrating it with psychotherapy for a comprehensive treatment plan.
For clients who value their faith, Dr Strydom can integrate a Christian worldview respectfully into the therapeutic process — always client-led.
